JBBP 50th Anniversary Open House

In honor of JBBP’s 50th Anniversary, we are planning a spectacular event to take place on Sunday, August 27 from 11am to 3pm. Come one, come all to celebrate 50 years of JBBP’s unique, significant, and unforgettable history. Special Guests will include: some of the founding members of the JBBP, all current and some past JBBP teachers, current/past JBBP staff, and more!

Everybody and anybody will be welcome to this family-friendly, FREE event.

  • OMATSURI GAMES
    Hungry Doraemon Game, goldfish scooping, yo-yo scooping, Hello Kitty Jumpy House, Pirate Obstacle Course

  • STAMP RALLY
    Guests will get to explore the new and old school buildings, collecting 10 stamps for a special prize!!

  • SING-ALONG
    From 11:30-12, there will be a sing-along led by our fantastic Ruriko Sensei

  • PHOTO BOOTH
    Get your pictures taken with friends and family and receive a custom designed photo strip

  • CANVAS SIGNING
    Guests can sign a large format custom-designed 50th Anniversary canvas to be put on display for years to come

  • TAIKO PERFORMANCE and DEMONSTRATION
    From 1:30-2:30pm, there will be a taiko performance in the auditorium, and guests will get a chance to try out the taiko themselves

  • SLIDESHOW and OPEN MIC
    Guests and teachers alike will have an opportunity to share how much JBBP means to them

  • JBBP 50th ANNIVERSARY MERCH
    We will be selling some limited edition 50th Anniversary merchandise, where all proceeds will go to PAC, which pays for the Japanese Bilingual Bicultural Program and so much more!

food

COME HUNGRY!! Tokachi Musubi Food Truck and Los Kuyas will be offering delicious food. (they accept cash, credit card, Venmo, although reception can be iffy around the school, so cash may be the safest option) You can sneak-peak their menu.

We will also be offering hot dogs (for a suggested donation of $3 each), cotton candy (FREE), and snow cones (FREE)
