Calling all Huskies to be movers! Our Walk-a-Thon may have been cancelled this year, but we’re going to keep on moving with Clarendon’s first ever Move-a-Thon!

During the week of March 15-21, we invite students to help raise money for our school by participating in a virtual Move-a-Thon. Movement opportunities will be presented both during and after school. We invite the whole family to get moving through the weekend, too! By tracking their movement activities, students can help make enrichment opportunities (art, music, PE, and more) at Clarendon possible. Join Clarendon Live on Monday, March 15th and meet Olympic Gold Medalist Kristi Yamaguchi at the Move-a-Thon kick-off!

READY, SET, MOVE!

1. Find your Student Page on our fundraising platform. Donations will be directly linked to your student’s name. Use this web page to ask family and friends to sponsor your student. Mention how this Move-a-Thon will motivate our kids to keep physically fit and healthy!

Instructions on How to Find Your Student Page

2. During the week of March 15th, MOVE! You can do any human-powered recreation like hiking, running or biking. You’ll also be able to select FREE classes led by professional dancers and parent volunteers in the Activity Schedule. PE and Dance with Ms. I count too!

3. Log your movements on the Movement Tracker. This interactive log will be handed out by your teacher in Google Classroom or SeeSaw. Alternatively, you can also print the PDF version of Movement Tracker and hand write in your log. Email your completed log to MoveathonClarendon@gmail.com. Submit your tracker by March 22 to earn a prize.

Participation prizes will be given to every student who turns in a Movement Tracker. Additional prizes will be awarded to the Top Fundraisers and the Most Active Class.

Double the Donation

Did you know that last year over $20,000 was donated through employer matching gift programs? Don’t forget to check if your employer has a corporate matching gift program! Search for your company in Double the Donation (doublethedonation.com) to see if your company will match. We hope you join in on the action and contribute if you can!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I have to fundraise? No. Our goal for the Move-a-Thon this year is to get our kids active and energized during these challenging times. We want them to connect with their teachers, build our community and be active while having fun!

Where does the money go? Money raised will directly support the education of our students by funding teacher resources and enrichment opportunities. Did you know that Clarendon’s parent associations help fund the salaries for Art with Ben, PE with Marc, Music with Lisa & Ruriko, SEL with Kait, in addition to online technology applications such as IXL and Mystery Science, and so much more? This funding is essential to the success of our school.

How are funds distributed between JBBP and Second Community? Money raised by each child will go to the program that they are registered in. Please search for your student's personal donation page.
