COMMUNITY ARTS & SCIENCE DAY

Friday, May 19
Community Arts and Science Day Team is planning a full day of STEAM activities! The morning will be dedicated to fun and easy art and science workshops led by parents and community members.  In the afternoon we will have our annual Egg Drop!


TOMODACHI AUCTION

April 18 - May 1
You're invited to Auction Inaugural Bidding Party on Friday, April 21! After years of absence, we are bringing back an in-person auction event.

The Tomodachi Auction is one of JBBP’s largest fundraisers. With upcoming SFUSD budget cuts, we need this important source of income even more than ever to continue to offer our wonderful programs.


CHERRY BLOSSOM FESTIVAL

April 8 - 9 & 15 - 16
Mark your calendar for the weekends of April 8-9 and 15-16 for the Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival in Japantown! Come join the FUN and volunteer to staff the Clarendon Udon Booth at the Cherry Blossom Festival.


JBBP meet & greet

Come out to Midtown to mingle and get to know other JBBP families for a meet and greet! The JBBP Social Committee will be at Midtown Terrace on Friday, Feb 5 from 11am to 1:30pm. Please RSVP in this post on ParentSquare.

Fred Korematsu Civil Rights Assembly

Friday, February 3
Clarendon will have a whole school assembly celebrating Fred Korematsu Day of Civil Liberties and Constitution. We commemorate civil rights hero Fred Korematsu with performances telling his story.


OSHOUGATSU CELEBRATION

January
Throughout the month of January, JBBP classes will celebrate the New Year (Oshougatsu), Japanese style. Buddy classes will enjoy making ozouni (mochi with broth), cutting up the vegetables and rolling up mochi. They will also play various traditional Oshougatsu games with their buddies.


PERFORMING ARTS NIGHT

Thursday, December 15
We will be bringing our beloved JBBP annual tradition of Performing Arts Night (PAN) in its full version! This year, our first in-person PAN in over two years is set to take place on Dec. 15th.


Undoukai

Tuesday, October 25
Undoukai (Japanese-style field day) is back in its full version! It will be a school-wide event. Participants are divided into Red Team (“Akagumi”) and White Team (“Shirogumi”), and compete in the activities like Noodle Relay, Tamaire (bean bags in a basket), and Re-lei Relay.


walk-a-thon

Sunday, October 16
After a 3 year hiatus, we are so excited to be able to have this event in person again! Walkathon is a school-wide event - fundraising + community building - and sooo much fun. We would love to see 75% of the kids and their families walking at the Lincoln track to support Clarendon!


Otsukimi (Harvest Moon) Celebration

Thursday, Sep 15
Otsukimi (moon-viewing) is a Japanese traditional holiday when families and friends go outside at night, eat a special meal, and enjoy looking at the moon.
On Thursday, Sep 15, students will be rolling mochi (sticky rice) balls together and enjoy the snacks at the end of the celebration. Otsukimi is a wonderful way to remember that we are part of nature, and share the experience with friends.


Back To School Night

September 7, 2022
Get ready to meet your teachers, other parents, and get a closer view into your child(ren)’s classroom and school experience. Presentations run from about 6:30 - 7:50pm, starting in the cafeteria and then in your child(ren)’s classroom.


NEW FAMILY WELCOME PLAYDATE

August 14, 2022
Come meet other new Clarendon families before the school year starts! Members of Clarendon parent associations (from both Clarendon JBBP Parent Advisory Council and Clarendon Second Community Parents Association) will be at Midtown Terrace Playground to meet you and answer questions.
